Herbs for diabetics?

The exercise is hard now after the amputation. Once it heals hopefully she can get more.

Thank you!

I don't have an herb to add to the list, but I saw a different summit, iThrive by Jon McMahon, risewithjon.com - my favorite takeaway from that series was Jason Fung, MD. He has a lot of good videos. I have one of his books, "The Complete Guide to Fasting". Another book of his is "The Diabetes Code: Prevent and Reverse Type 2 Diabetes Naturally". Just a couple other sources of info you could check into. I was floored to learn you can reverse type 2 when I first saw the summit (about 4 yrs ago).

I'm thankful for this thread as I just had some bloodwork done and my fasting blood sugar was 150. Gotta get that down to don't want to go on meds.
My diet was pretty good until I started working in hospital food service. I got free food off the tray line 3 a day.
Gonna miss those good tasting carbs.

I'm trying to learn to like sugar snap peas for snacking. Love the crunch, but I am really craving potato chips today. What healthy, crunchy snacks are good to keep blood sugar down? Extra points if they are low salt, too.

@Linda Bittle crunchy salty snacks, especially potato chips, have always been a struggle for me to resist. I decided to give up chips completely for health reasons awhile back. Now when I'm craving something crunchy I eat popcorn. It typically won't cause a spike in blood sugar. You can make it with or without salt and healthy oils. It is my go to snack.

@Linda Bittle Here is another way to have snap peas. Chips and snap peas in one. :)
@Michelle D I like popcorn, too, but have way too much butter. I found a nice salt free veggie mineral blend that works very well instead of salt.

I like popcorn! I like it best with butter, of course.

@torey I have often wondered if you could boil things like snap peas, potatoes, carrots or whatever. Mask or blend into a thick pulp or paste type consistency, then dehydrate. Thinking it might come out like Pringles or the chip type snack of peas and other veggies. Might have to try when it cools down since I have to use the oven.
