What is everyone doing on New Year's Eve?

Being single used to be hard on New Year's Eve. Seems with COVID, there are not many parties or bars or much of anything anymore. I'll be watching the Thin Man, cooking something tasty... probably oysters Rockefeller since I found an old recipe that looks good and it is oyster season... and sipping adult beverages while celebrating the 13th anniversary of finding my little dog, Buddy. What is everyone doing?

Sadly, the Peach Drop was cancelled again this year so we're going to make our own fun! One of my daughters is making a Charcuterie Boards for the family. We're going to play board games and have good time together.
-
Well, I love charcuterie, so big thumbs up!
-
Going to bed early with a good book and some hot buttered rum. I'll probably be awake at midnight, so I guess I'll kiss the cats.
For an introvert, any reason to stay home from a party is a good one.

Every year I go to bed at 10 and promise myself that next year I’ll party it up 😂 So maybe next year I’ll do something glamorous!

When I get off work, We will head straight home. Have a quiet dinner with my husband, then put a movie on and turn it up loud so the dog can't hear the fireworks as well.
-
Probably going to bed early. Got the usual list of weekend errands to run.
-
We had supper and then a few snacks while watching part of a series about the history & a few special sites in different Canadian provinces & topped it off with a bit of Mr. Bean. Then, the kids went to bed.
I stayed up, reading. Nothing too special. I actually stayed up until midnight because I was reading, no other reason, and then promptly went to bed when I realized how late it was. 🥱
We had a busy day today (New Years Day), and it went by quickly. Time to do a little more reading and then, back to bed! Whew!

I stayed up by myself. My husband went to bed early and my son went and played his video games. So, I was alone to see in the New Year. I did watch the New Year's show from Seattle. Not that interested in the national ones.

I watched part of a movie with my family before midnight. Then we watched the ball drop on one of the news stations and drank sparkling cider. Then we finished the movie (we start it in the old year and finish it in the new) lol.

Normally we have a very quiet time. Watch TV, read a book and watch fireworks sitting warm and cosy with a glass of anything sparkling. We have a panoramic view of the valley in front, so we can see fireworks from left and right and up. The house is usually full with guests who come for the new year and skiing, but they, normally, entertain themselves. But this year was different as all the bars and restaurants had to close at 22 hours. We know well the people who stay with us, so we had some fun - grilling bananas stuffed with chocolate - a recipe from @JodieDownUnder and we all enjoyed them, had the usual sparkling wine and watched fireworks.

”Bananas stuffed with chocolate,”@jowitt.europe , a friend I met while traveling did this on the grill. It was fascinating and yummy! I believe she was from Belgium.
@judsoncarroll4 we played boardgames, and I turned in around 9pm. Always in spirit, I celebrate New Years with those living in Australia due to their time is six hours ahead of me.
