Kiwi Blue Honeywort
One of the New varieties I am growing this season. I hear its related to the borage family so I also wonder if that means it has edible uses?
Its a great pollinator and fantastic filler in Bouquets so this is why I plan to grow it.

This is a new plant to me. Cerinthe major. It is a member of the Boraginaceae family.
So this is what I have discovered. The flowers are edible. The leaves may be used as a green veg in Turkey and as a salad green in one region of Italy, although it is generally considered animal fodder.
Medicinal uses are not very well investigated. One source suggests that it is an antiscorbutic and good for the liver (for jaundice) but no specific preparations. Another source suggests its use for eye inflammation but, again, no preparations, dosage, etc. are given.
Anyone else with more info?

I have not been able to find out much more about Honeywort either but it will be a fun plant to try and keep researching

@Monek Marie I almost got that one but the description didn't say anything about tea or medicinal uses so I thought I would wait.

That is a very pretty flower. @Monek Marie, where did you find it?

I’m trying that one this year too!
@JennyT Upstate South Carolina I bought mine from Baker Creek.

Oh, ok thanks. @Monek Marie & @Megan Venturella 😊
I was specifically looking for heirloom seeds this time around. So that's probably why I didn't see it.
