Its that time of year again
Its finally getting nice in NW Pennsylvania and I have to remember to lock my car at every stop.
I let my guard down at Ollies when I ran in to buy some potting soil and when I came back to the car the entire front passenger seat was filled with shrubs and fruit plants. Someone had really great taste and chose wisely.
Then I loooked in the back seat. Wow. Someone really got carried away. Kiwi, Jostaberry, Nanking Cherry, everbearing strawberry plants, alpine strawberry plants, Lilacs, and more.
I was going to look in the truck - but I was afraid.
So tomorrow I will be planting shrubs.

Wow, the leprechaun was rewarding you. Have fun.

That sounds like so much fun! I'm think that it will be getting nice enough for stuff like that around here in a couple of weeks.
-
Its a nice break from the world, playing in dirt.

@Monek Marie You know, if some anonymous person was buying fruit shrubs and plants, and putting them in my car, I wouldn`t bother locking the car anymore. Maybe next they would buy you groceries, or new clothes. 😉

That happens to me every time I go to the Grower's Outlet by me! Except no secret admirer! It's all me losing control. 😁
-
Thye had fruit shrubs on sale at 25% off. I had to buy a few more. Nanking Cherries, blueberries and a few grape varieties.

One of my local stores is advertising fruit trees and shrubs buy one get one this week. I was so excited and went to get some yesterday. I was disappointed at the lack of selection and quality of the plants. I came home without any. I will not give up! I will check a few other places later this week.

WOW, what a great haul. I would have to break the bank to get all that here. Hopefully this year I will have the space cleared and prepped so I can take advantage of some offers I get. A friend said I can come get any kind of wild berries growing on his place, he has blueberries, currants and several others.

That was quite some list of plants that fit in your car. 😊
I'm unable to get any of those until we know what we have and what is still alive. It's so hard for me to see all the plants at the stores right now. I desperate to buy all the things. 🤑

@Monek Marie How awesome!
However, my first thought would have been, do I have the right car, or did they put all of this in the wrong car?? LOL
-
The local nurseries are all open already (seasonal here), but you can't plant outdoors reliably here until June 1. (Case in point, it's supposed to get down to about 20F for the next couple of nights.) So I have to avert my eyes every time I drive by them .... aaaaaauuuugggghhhhhh!
-
Wow, A new idea. Look for the car with the most plants in it in a parking lot and take it home ;)
-
@Monek Marie Actually, taking a car that wasn't mine happened to me----but it didn't have any plants! My mom and I had gone to the mall, were in a hurry as usual, found "my car", got in, my key worked and off we went! About the only thing I noticed was that I had a full tank of gas and had thought it was almost empty. We drove across town to my aunt's house and when we started to leave, I looked in the back seat and it had a seat cover-----mine did not!!! Then we really started looking and found all kind of differences.
Had to call the police and tell them what happened--was afraid we would be stopped returning it. The officer laughed and laughed (wasn't funny to us) and assured us that we would not be stopped for a stolen car (gave him the license plate info) and to exchange cars at the mall!
Thank goodness my car was still there! Couldn't wait to get out of that parking lot!!!

@water2world ... Oh this happened to me too, but I did not leave the parking lot. The car started for me, I was backing up and saw grocery bags in the back seat that were not mine then looked around. I put it back in forward, parked it and ran.
-
@Monek Marie At least you parked it the same place! I parked way away and ran to my car! lol
