vinegar gone wild
I never thought too much about the white vinegar I buy in the big plastic jugs to use for cleaning. I infused some with orange peel and thyme to boost the cleaning power and make it smell nice. I poured it into a mason jar for storage. I got it out to use and to my amazement, 2 scobys have formed one on the top and one on the bottom. I always thought this vinegar was "dead" for lack of a better term.

I would have thought the same thing @annbeck62. That's unreal.😲
Just curious, what are your ratios when adding the "boost" to your vinegar?

Wow! That's amazing!

@JennyT Upstate South Carolina I used a quart size mason jar, used the peel but not pith from one large navel orange and about 2T dried thyme (didn't have fresh) then topped off with vinegar and let it infuse for 2 2 weeks. It did add a nice scent. Can't vouch for how much of a cleaning boost but it does make it a little more fun to use then regular vinegar which makes me a little more apt to clean more frequently so kind of an automatic boost there 😉

@annbeck62 Thanks for the "recipe" for your vinegar. I want to make some myself but have always wondered about the ratio aspect. 😊
