Changing those names again!
I didn't realize that Rhamnus species had been changed to Frangula species. I checked with my plant atlas and they have changed the name of Cascara to the Frangula genus (F. purshiana) but have left Alder-leaved Buckthorn in the Rhamnus genus (R. alnifolia). So confusing! I guess we just have to accept learning all the possible names a species can have.
The species we have here in BC are the two I mentioned. Cascara and Alder-leaved Buckthorn. They are quite a bit further south, though; not in my immediate area.

Well, what else is a taxonomist to do? They literally have one job to justify their expensive education... confusing people through further classification.
