I wonder how things will play out in the world with her gone. She's been a presence for longer than I've been alive. I don't know that Charles will be able to live up to the job.

@Linda Bittle Many people have expressed the same sentiments. Then there are those who wished it skipped on to William or the monarchy would be abolished.

I'd personally like to see how William would do.

I think William would do a good job and I had heard that Charles had no interest. Time will tell how it plays out.

I was 10 foot away from the queen when I was in England. Our president was also visiting but I saw him from about 20 foot. Closest I have even been to a President and it was overseas.

It would be fantastic to see the continuing of the Royal Family and for their Royal obligations be carried on into many future generations
