Time to harvest Poke root

By the way, ya'll, now is the time to begin harvesting poke root (phytolacca) - it is beginning to die back. It is a powerful lymph cleanser and helps with viruses. It is toxic though, so use small amounts and read my writings on it.

My daughter just bought a house in NC and they have pokeweed in the yard along with some other medicinal plants. Super excited for her as she begins some new journeys in life. Do you have any books or writings on pokeweed I could share with her @judsoncarroll4 ?

I told most of what I know and you I use it in the post earlier this week on poke, here on TGN, but my Herbal Medicine for Preppers, Homesteaders and Permaculture People book also has a lot of info.

@judsoncarroll4 I haven't had the chance to finish reading everything so thanks for the heads-up on the roots. I was wondering at what point they get harvested.🙂

Any time after the tops die off. If the stalks remain standing, you can even dig the root in winter.

Always be prepared with pokeroot tincture.
