Has anyone had blebs on their eye?

When I went for my refraction appointment, I told the Doctor that my right eye lid is swollen only on Wednesday through Friday. He was able to lift the eyelid and told me I had a bleb on my eye. It is a raised something or other.

I am wondering if these is something I can do other than warm and then cold compresses? What would you suggest or has anyone ever had that problem?

I do use dry drops in both eyes. My vision this afternoon is really bad.

@dipat2005 it is my understanding that a bleb is an infectious blister. My best suggestion would be to add lots of antibiotic foods to your diet.

@Michelle D thank you, that is a great idea!

I finally tried a warm compress on the eye this morning because I could barely see. It worked right away and I was impressed!

Calendula is antibacterial. You could make a tea with it and I believe Dr. Patrick Jones has a recipe for an eyewash with it?

Have never heard of a bleb. But will pray for healing and no vision issues because of this.

@vickeym thank you for the prayers! Unfortunately calendula and I don't get along. Thank you@Cornelius. I will see if I can find the eyewash.

@dipat2005 how is your recovery going?

@Michelle D it is increasing from Tuesday through Saturday now. Before it was just three days. I have been eating antibiotic foods too. I am now going to try the warm compress again. Last time I did just the warm the swelling was gone for the entire day!

I would use an eye cup. Make a tea of your choice that works well for you (maybe echinacea or rudbeckia- research to see what is gentle for the eye) fill the eye cup and hold over eye for 20 minutes 3-4 times a day. Make sure to keep that eye open and blinking in the cup so that the tea gets in there really well.

CLEAN the eye cup well in between each use.

Drink the rest of the tea😊.

Eat fermented garlic 4 times a day.

Take Liposomal vitamin C every 2-3 hours.

    That's what I would do.

@nicksamanda11 thank you for the great ideas! I hadn't thought about an eye cup. That is something I don't have but I can see that it would be good to have on hand.

For now my problem is solved sort of. I was asked by my Dr to put slight pressure on my eye. It could break up since it is a fluid filled sac. I started doing that Tuesday late afternoon and through the evening hours. I haven't had the usual problems since then. Simple solution and I will take a wait and see attitude.

Just a word of caution on any herbal teas you are using as an eye wash.

Make sure you filter the tea before using it to ensure there are no tiny pieces of herb or grittiness in the final solution. Tea bags may let some residue through. You could pour it through a coffee filter after brewing.

Eyebright is one of the most commonly used herbal eye washes.

@torey thanks for the warning. I don't even drink tea so I doubt very much I would do that. I do appreciate the special caring everyone has for each person. I didn't know about Eyebright, thanks for mentioning it!

I make a tea with eyebright herb and pour it into dropper bottles. I also put in a small pinch of golden seal powder. This remedy takes away itching eyes, and all kinds of eye issues: stys, inflammation, minor conditions, which, if left alone, could become infections. I carry that dropper bottle with me in my first aid kit when I travel. My kit includes, lavender oil, thieves, Arnica oil, frankincense oil, along with other things I've found helpful personally.

@dipat2005 A bleb is a new one for me---never know what I will learn in this group!!

Hope your eye is much better!

@water2world I am doing much better most of the time. My eyes give me more problems when I play the organ for church. It is a matter of the bench not being off the ground enough to accomodate my eyes. I fixed it a couple of weeks ago.

@dipat2005 Glad to hear your eyes are better. Playing the organ would be taxing enough 'without the bench not being high enough!' Glad you were able to correct that problem!

I love to listen to the organ!!

I went to my eye Dr last week and he measured the Bleb at 7 cm. Just this afternoon I had a really bad aura and I have a headache to go with it! I just used the dry solution and lightly covered my eye and it worked to some degree. I haven't had an aura in a very long time.

@dipat2005 I'm so sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with that again. Has the eye Dr offered anymore ideas?

@Michelle D not at all. It really doesn't bother me much which is a good thing.

Dr. Christopher's comprehensive herbal tome has a great recipe using eyebright and bayberry loose leaf made into a tea (as suggested above), let cool and use as an eyewash. Then drink the rest. There are other herbs in his formulation, but those are the primary ones. (His recipe uses a pinch of cayenne too for the Vit C, but it's a bit harsh... I DO use it but literally only a few grains!).

His book is a MUST for anyone wanting to know herbs.
