Too much outdated yeast
I have too much outdated yeast, what can I do with it? Can I use twice as much yeast in recipes? I unknowingly used it in some bread and it didn't raise properly.

I'm assuming this is an instant type of yeast that you just add to the flour without proofing the yeast first?
So I would try proofing the yeast to see if it is alive and then adjusting the recipe instructions to reflect that.

@dipat2005 I agree with Torey. I do similar with my very old liquid rennet, except I just go double it now, it's so old! It seems to work okay that way for now, at least!

@torey and @LaurieLovesLearning thank you I never thought about proofing the yeast first! The rennet idea sounds great too!
