An interesting article. I still prefer homegrown as much as possible. For one, its local and doesnt need fancy inputs and coatings. It may take more work, but it is less reliance on science that only has money in its sights.

And the more they "add" to it or "treat" it with the further from food it becomes.

My take is that food waste is excellent material for compost, and I never have enough compost. So nothing is truly wasted, though it may not be used as efficiently as it would have been if I ate it directly.
