My cat seems to have an allergy - itchy skin
My cat is overall healthy, but he is itching too much. It could be dry skin but he has episodes of this, so I am thinking it's an allergy.
Does anyone have any suggestions to help? If it does not clear up I will take him to the vet, but he really does not like going to the vet.

Are you sure it isn't ringworm?
I had just been reading about hoe to help cats regrow hair. Articles talked about hair loss after stress, allergies & ringworm. I didn't find good advice on that subject.
The only remedy I remember about the allergies is to change their food.
You could also ask Doc Jones on his forum at Homegrown Herbalist.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Something that helps with dogs and itching is giving them a cedar filled bed. Not sure if it would work as well for cats or not.
There are some homeopathic remedies that might help but it would depend on the totality of symptoms. You could PM me if you would like any suggestions along those lines.

@LaurieLovesLearning Its not ringworm. And this cat cannot have any fleas. He has a horrible reaction to flea bites. I make sure he does not get them.
I think it could be his food. I used to handmake it for him and stopped last year. I think I need to make that a priority.
@torey I'll send you a PM later.
Thanks
