Update* Unusual Request: My brother is missing

I was just told that my youngest brother is missing. Few details are known, but he had said this morning that he was helping a friend out who was in trouble. He never showed up to two places he was supposed to be today. He has been going through some really difficult stuff, but I think his disappearance is related to trying to help someone, not his issues. His van is missing and supposedly his phone was found by a woman who claims she found it on the street...but she hung up on the police.


When someone goes missing in our capital city, it usually never ends well. It has been long known as a murder capital. Not a nice thing to be known for.


My nephew is burying his 23 year old girlfriend tomorrow afternoon. This is after he "lost" the 3 kids in his care because one of the kids dads reported that he kidnapped them (all he did was visit his parents for a weekend and planned on returning the day that call was received). I never met her, and only our two oldest will be attending the funeral (they met her), but feel very much for both the kids who are in limbo & my nephew.


If you pray, please pray. I am shaking. I am so tired of everything that has been happening in my family lately (there is more yet, but these are the biggest things). I hope I can get some sleep.

    What I was told is that my parents video chatted with my brother in the hospital. He was drugged and robbed. When he came to, he drove to work and waited for someone to find him. He will be in the hospital for a while.


    I'm very glad it wasn't worse. It very easily could have been.

    I posted an update about 8 posts about yours. Yes, thankfully he was found, but is on IV to get his body clear of whatever drug/mix they used. I understand that he was able t video chat with my parents from the hospital, so he is aware. He doesn't remember what happened. When he came to, he was able to get in his van and (kind of a scary thought), was able to drive to his place of work. Then he waited for someone to find him there. I'm not sure what time of day or night this actually was.


    I have no idea what state he is in at the moment, nor if there will be any lasting issues from the drug(s). But, he has been found & is in a safe place.

    The drug my brother was exposed to was a white powder blown in his face. He was close to work & was left in his van with his keys. He went into a detox centre today and will remain there 6 weeks.

    @heirlooms777 I am sorry that you had to go through that. 😞 I really hope everything was resolved quickly and well in your case.




    I don't think that I would be able to access the organization since I'm in Canada. Even so, I'm glad that they were a very positive help to you and is a worthy suggestion as a resource.




    Thank you for your suggestion. For others who may need it in the future, I would like to ask if the organization gives support even after the person is found? If so, what do they offer? Counseling? Other resources?




    There might be an equivalent up here, but I haven't looked, especially since he has been found & is being taken care of. I have no idea how my parents are doing at this point. I haven't heard. I imagine it will be difficult for them for quite some time and I hope they were given resources to help them.




    I don't know for sure (considering your response) if you had read that my brother was found. He had been beaten as I understand, drugged & robbed & left in his van. He was in the hospital for a short time, and now will be in rehab for about 6 weeks. A bit more detail can be found in my posts above.




    Hopefully no lasting damage will have been done, but we won't know until afterward how it may continue to affect him.

    I am so very sorry for your family's troubles. I am so happy that your brother was found and will recover. That is definitely an answer to many prayers. I pray that the rest of the family troubles will also be resolved!
