I think I have to put my first pet down

My first pet of my whole life, Sunshine the Angora wool rabbit, has always been very nervous. She has been hurting herself, and today, she is having trouble hopping and has damage on her head, yet she still keeps pacing and is very nervous. I gave her her favorite food, bed, and water, and I am hoping she falls asleep.

I'm sorry to hear this. It is always hard to see a pet suffer & at the same time, very difficult to make the decision to put them down.

@heirlooms777 I'm so sorry, that is hard to deal with, especially being your first ever pet! Keep us posted as to how Sunshine is doing.

@water2world @LaurieLovesLearning She is doing better, not as nervous. I broke down and gave her some medicine, and I sprayed her ears with water with a little liquid silver in it.

Glad she's doing better! I was worried when I read your first post. It's always hard to lose a pet.

@kbmbillups1 @water2world @LaurieLovesLearning thank you. Sunshine is doing better. The ivermectin (pea sized on a piece of banana, ivermectin is sort of like an herb, right?) awhile ago and she is looking a little better and more calm. Today I gave her a diatomaceous dust bath, and put a little silver supplement on some unrefined coconut oil and put it on the missing wool around her one ear. I have MSM for her food, and silver to put in her water, which I did before, but I’ll wait to see how everything goes so I don’t do too much at once. I also put her in her brand new cage, and took her out of her hutch inside the house and put her in the garage with the other bunnies.

I now have eight bunnies in the garage, all in or going to be in 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 foot cages. My landlords now say two bunnies, but if my friend moves upstairs it will be four. I might have three or four bunnies for sale, but I am hoping to find people who want to get info in the breeding program for the bunnies. I broke up with my boyfriend of three years, so no bunnies are going there.

@heirlooms777 Ivermectin is not an herb. It is popular to use off label for poultry, and I choose not to use it.

Sounds like you're doctoring her well!

@LaurieLovesLearning what do you recommend in place of ivermectin

I am not familiar with rabbits, so I wouldn't feel confident giving any recommendation.
