Communications down
Yesterday, a truck broke the wire that provides our landline phone and internet to the house.
I am posting this from my cell, but that's a pain, so I am unlikely to post here again until it's repaired next week.
Remember that you can lose your communications at any time. Have plans and backups if possible. Let your friends, family, and business associates know that reliable communication is never guaranteed.

Yes, having multiple ways to communicate - or feed your family, or start a fire to keep you warm - are so important. We are usually aware of weather emergencies, but stuff happens.
I hope they restore your service quickly.

I was relieved that we were able to get this fixed within a few days at no charge to us. Everything is working fine now.
And of course a hurricane that briefly reached Category 5 is now coming up the east coast toward us.
*sigh* Always something !

@VermontCathy I'm happy for you for your good news. Hopefully, the storm won't affect you or your property much. You couldn't be more correct that there is always something.
