slippery elm

I have read and heard that slippery elm is endangered for two reasons the elm beetle and over harvest. so i have heard suggestions of any elm will work in its place.

I believe that Doc Jones said that too. I know he has a slippery elm video on youtube. Maybe called eat yer elm seeds.

Hmmmm, that would be great if we can substitute any Elm. I often use Marsha mallow leaf or root, when moistening of the internal is needed. Throat and digestive.

Here are some other alternatives listed at United Plant Savers. alternatives to this widely used herb, Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis), Comfrey (Symphytum sp.), and Mullein (Verbascum sp.) are just a few.

dottile46 yes Doc Jones is where i had herd that they were inter changable. i'm currently go through his classes and have been to several of his work shops,

i tend to use marshmallow instead of slippery elm i alsi found that ground up chia seed is good for musclaege

thankyou torey for that info i will show those to Doc and get his learned opinion
