Kale stems
So I haven't tried this yet, namely because I came across if five minutes ago, but I think it sounds pretty interesting.
So, has anyone pickled kale stems? It sounds like it would taste good, but I'm wondering about the texture. I'll have to give it a try if we have a good kale crop.

I pickle collard stems very similar... or make slaw

I think that - once I get moved - I will start trying small amounts of a bunch of different pickle recipes. There have been very few pickled veggies that I haven't liked. I've just never tried to make more than just dill pickles.
Half pint jars would be just about right to experiment with. I could probably try a new one every week and never run out of ideas.

Sounds delicious. I've also cooked them down with lots of olive oil and garlic and pureed it to make something like pesto. Now I have chickens though, so they always get the stems.

Thank you, I forget about some of the simple things like that!
