    I did not have the book so for the spacing of the broccoli I used a different source. It gave the 18 inches for spacing. The 3 inch difference is probably due to the bointensive method offset spacing allowing for more food to be planted in the same space.

    I have not yet dug beds, but we have built some raised beds which we filled with some rotting fire wood on the bottom and filled with dirt like a Huglekulture. I have planted some seeds and transplanted some starts that I started a while ago.

    I am personally doing a bit of a hodge-podge.. a little square gardening, a little bio-intensive, a little no-till.

    We built a Hugelkultur bed this year! I have zucchini, okra and sweet potatoes in it, along with a couple of volunteer tomatoes, lol! So far I like it a lot, it seems to hold moisture well and has been pretty weed-free.
