Nice find!

@Mary Linda Bittle Wow! What an excellent resource! I have two of these books in hard copy (American Woman's Cookbook and the Purity Cookbook); old copies but not as old as these ones. It will be interesting to compare the differences over the decades.
Thanks so much for posting this for all us cookbook addicts!

@Mary Linda Bittle very cool! I just got a bunch of them!!!!

Awesome! You might find one by a distant (by marriage, a few times removed) ancestor of mine (maybe), Mary Randolph. Her "Virginia Housewife" has the first recipe for southern fried chicken! I know my family lived in the same area, at the same time... and even sold property to her relatives. But, thanks to a courthouse being burned 3 times and several other issues, I can't completely connect the dots. But, that is nothing new... my gggg (or so) grandfather started out on the same trip with the Mayflower folks, but his ship had to turn back... so, he came over on the second voyage of the Mayflower... the result being that my family can't join the Mayflower heritage bunch... we're in the DAR, but our area of NC was such a mess, so very rural... but so often burned by every army that would wander through, from the Brits to Sherman, that we don't have a whole lot of info.... where my family hails from is where the rebels, pirates, outlaws and n'er do wells hid... Flora MacDonald, Blackbeard, Henry Berry Lowery, etc.... Well, anyway... I love the old cookbooks. I collect them and cook from them often!

Oh, here is the collection I usually explore: https://d.lib.msu.edu/fa#A

OH NO! I'm in trouble now. Cookbook junkie here, and you just fed my addiction in a big way! LOL I know what I will be doing as soon as I get home from work tonight. :)
-
Awesome, some great oldies!
-
OK, has anyone downloaded any of these? I started to, but they are asking for a lot of personal information and I still don't see a way to download yet.
-
This site that Judson Carroll shared has many (all?) of the same books. I downloaded some PDF books here.
-
Mary Linda Bittle Thank you. These look good to.
-
Thank you!
-
@vickeym I did. It does ask for name, address, phone number (I didn't put one in), but didn't ask for a card number as I didn't pick any that cost.
-
The Mary Frances's cookbook reminded me of a book I read years ago named Kettle Head. Wow, did anyone else read this? At least one of my two older sisters had brought Kettle Head home to read and I was so jealous that I couldn't read.
-
dottile46 Thank you. I looked at a couple free ones, but decided not to give them my address and phone number. I appreciate all of these being shared.
-
Thank you so much! These are wonderful!

Thanks for posting this. Although I may need to find a 12-step program for cookbook addiction..... ;-)
-
Welcome to TGN @shepherd-tish! You seem to have the same problem as many others here. Maybe we should start our own chapter for Cookbook Jumkies.
-
@Cornelius Yes, I downloaded all of them except the paid one. (I don't like using my credit card internationally). Although, I would have been interested to see what a state dinner entailed back in those days.
