Isaias.. is you is or is you ain't a hurricane, baby?
Looks like this one won't pan out out be much more than a strong breeze and an maybe 3-5 inches of rain. I've seen no panic shopping, hoarding, etc... Boy howdy though, the folks on the news have sure turned themselves inside out "virtue signaling" trying to come up with the most outrageously stupid pronunciation of the name... and trying to scare people. I wonder if maybe folks are realizing 24/7 "news" is mostly alarmist, dishonest and foolish.... hyping minutia and politics while covering up or ignoring what really matters? Yesterday, this was supposed to flood us all out and force us into shelters where we would all get COVID and die! BTW, my millennial friends, the title of my post is a reference
to a tune by the great Louis Jourdan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LGl70VGvmg

You have such good taste in music @judsoncarroll4! Haven't heard that one in years! Thanks!

Well, thank you! Louis Jordan's band was awesome! They were probably the first real rock n' roll band. Little Richard got his style from Louis Jordan, so did Bill Haley and the Comets. "Open The Door Richard" and "Caledonia" are classics. There are more than a few similarities with Chubby Checker, too.

@judsoncarroll4 I'd never heard of Louis Jordan, wow he was good. Thanks for the heads up.👍️. The 24/7 news cycle is rubbish, I'm sure they make it up. Hurricane Isaias ( i say as?) hasn't rated a mention in our neck of the woods but I'm sure it would if there was death and destruction! Listen to your wonderful music and enjoy the rain.

There is a little flooding in places that are at, or under sea level. I grew up about half in the mountains and half in the coastal swamps. The town near the coast was 7 feet below sea level in most places, so flooding is to be expected. Enjoy Louis Jordan! His band was considered jazz or jump blues, but was really a pioneer and transition into rock and soul.. probably the most influential band few people have ever heard of. Other of their hits include "Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens", "Let the Good TImes Rolls" and the "Chochoo Ch'Boogie". But, this is my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCQO7NrLRkE

Tornadoes touched down in Delaware and warnings for Cumberland county nj (where I live) til 10 am. I guess one just crossed the Atlantic City parkway in Atlantic County

Most of my family is is cherry stone camping in va. Campers got hit by falling trees, ambulance was in. My crew are in their cars in a parking lot as we speak to stay clear from the trees

Stay safe! I have downed limbs and clean up to do, but nothing worse than just a heavy thunderstorm.
-
@judsoncarroll4 that's a beautiful thing! I moved most of the plants I could yesterday, but not all. Hoping they make out ok; the beans are taking a beating but am hoping the worst is over here; it’s moving upwards
-
Looks like there was a tornado up in Bertie County - it hit a trailer park, of course. I hear four people are missing.

@judsoncarroll4 I know I ain't common, I got class I haven't used yet. Brilliant!

That is a great line. Well, for better or worse, TGN has run contrary to one of Groucho Marx famous lines, "I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member." Oh well.... "nonconformists unite!"

Love the oldies! Glad the storm wasn't too bad. Yes, the news is so dishonest!
