FREE series for Coping with Stress: K.P. Khalsa
I gave this a special place as an announcement for good reason.
This series stands to be very good and timely. K.P. is a very good teacher. Easy to follow, knowledgable, and thorough.
Part 1 is only available until Oct. 20th.
Please take the time to learn all you can from this short series. The more herbal tools and understanding that we have and implement in this time, the better.

We, as a human race, have all been under a great deal of stress lately, whether it be environmental, political, social or health related. KP Khalsa is a great teacher and this series should be well worth the time to watch. Just taking the time for yourself, to invest in these sessions is a great first step.
-
KP has been one of my main herbalism teachers and he's one of my favorite teachers, period. I'm looking forward to this series - also there's a 50% off discount for the HerbMentor.com website with this free offer. (I have no affiliation with them.)
-
This looks like a very interesting series. I look forward to watching and learning with each segment. Thanks for sharing it @LaurieLovesLearning
-
@LaurieLovesLearning thank you for this information. K. P. Khalsa lives close by and he is an amazing teacher. I certainly need this information.
-
@dipat2005 You are so fortunate!
-
The first video was great. I'm glad he started with digestion. That is a big issue when undergoing any kind of stress.
-
Perfect timing for this series and information! TY
-
Looks interesting. Thanks for sharing
-
I believe Just listening to K.P. helps reduce stress :)
-
He's one of my favorites, too. Always has useful info.
-
Thanks for posting. This looks great.
-
Thank you for sharing @LaurieLovesLearning!
-
Listened to the first one today and really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the rest of them.
-
I finally got a chance to listen as well. I was not disappointed.
-
Perfect timing; just finished an enormous project and now I have time to do that. Thank you!
-
I am taking this course and love it. Stress is a huge part of my life and I am trying to take control and conquer it.
-
What awesome information! I am enjoying this series.
-
We have so much increased stress and anxiety since the pandemic began.
-
@maryannfricko Certainly. We had a lot to start with and unfortunately many had even greater portions. This has now all exploded exponentially.
I hope you enjoy this short series.
-
I wasn't able to catch #1 at all, and only got part of #2, but #3 was great.
My main take home messages from #3:
-eat lots of veggies, especially leafy greens, especially uncooked.
-enjoy exercise
-eat omega 3 (fish is best source, walnuts and hemp are OK)
-eat blueberries and bright colored berries and red apple peels
-ensure you get at least RDA of minerals and vitamins
-helpful herbs include curcumin, gotu kola, and kopikacchu
-
Thanks for the notes on episode 3, @Annie Kate! not sure if I will be able to watch it all before episode 4 goes up... although I hope so because I really wanna hear him say "kopikacchu"
-
@LaurieLovesLearning thank you for introducing me to KP Khalsa! Adept teachers are our essential allies, and it is wonderful to meet one so highly recommended by yourself, who holds learning in such high regard.
-
@Annie Kate Excellent summary!
@Sydarta I have high respect for him. He would be one of the primary herbalists whom I would want to learn from.
-
LOL @Sydarta --he says it the way it looks like it should. I listened on double speed, so couldn't catch anything unique about accents, though.
-
#4 is very good; if you have cardiovascular issues, you will appreciate Khasi's dosing and other info
Here are my very general take aways of foods etc to focus on:
-Celery and juice and seeds
-beet juice
-Proteolytic enzymes (bromelain/pineapple; soy natto; arjuna bark; hawthorn; hibiscus; grapes)
-warming vasodilators (ginger, cinnamon bark, chili, black pepper, cardamom, cloves)
He recommends building these into daily life as much as possible.
For myself, I'm putting celery on my shopping list, planning to harvest wild grapes, and looking for soy natto. And I'm feeling very smug about my turmeric/black pepper/cinnamon latte habit. :)
-
We will watch this later today. We have been drinking K. P. Khalsa's 1 gallon version of yogi tea daily now since we bought real cinnamon (ceylon, a very fragile cinnamon, not like the hard cassia found in stores).
A tip, if you want to do this tea, buy the ceylon cinnamon in bulk. It is much less expensive this way.
I also plan to get into doing golden milk once a day once we are getting colostrum free milk (haha...the original golden milk...not really, yuck!). He talked about golden milk yesterday.
I think these are excellent healthy & tasty substitutes for coffee. For me, a coffee is a treat if we go out visiting or occasionally if we eat out. That is almost the only time I drink it. I love it, but there are better habits to build!

Turmeric is so good for inflammation throughout the body but sometimes we don't consider inflammation in the brain. Episode 3 was a good reminder to take care of our brains as well as the rest of our physical being.
I'm a big fan of cinnamon as a daily food supplement. My husband has it in his 5 mushroom hot chocolate blend every morning and I add it to many other dishes. As little as 1/2 tsp per day can assist in modulating blood sugar levels, among its many other health benefits. And, yes, search out a source for good quality true or Ceylon cinnamon as @LaurieLovesLearning mentions.
-
I take two turmeric every day to reduce inflammation. I think it is helping.
-
OK, I didn't even know there were various kinds of cinnamon! Thank you @LaurieLovesLearning and @torey. I knew it was good for you, but just in a general way. It seems that the yummier you make your food (except for adding sugar), the healthier it is.
-
Ceylon cinnamon is the only one to get. The other kind (cassia) is not useful, except as a seasoning. Ceylon cinnamon is also sweeter and more delicate.
