Trusted Reference Websites of our Herbalist Practitioner Members
I would like this thread to be available to our Certified Natural Health Practioner members only, so that we have a solid list of websites to easily reference as we build our knowledge.
There are so many websites that claim to be safe & trustworthy, yet may not be. It is easy to be fooled and so, we need to be very careful. This subcategory was suggested with safety in mind.
*TGN is not necessarily endorsing any of the suggestions to follow, but is making them available for your consideration.*
Thank you in advance for your contributions. We all appreciate you and your willingness to share your knowledge & resources with us. 🌱

Here are three to start with. More to follow.
The Southwest School of Botanical Medicine. This site has a truly astonishing amount of information that is downloadable for free. The Constitutional Herbalism and Materia Medica courses are being offered free (at the time of posting). This site is based on the teachings of well-known herbalist and author of several books, Michael Moore. https://www.swsbm.com/HOMEPAGE/HomePage.html. There is a TGN study group for the courses offered at this site. https://community.thegrownetwork.com/discussion/844249/free-huge-and-comprehensive-herbal-medicine-course-by-swsbm/p1
The Northeast School of Botanical Medicine. Click on resources to get access to free herb monographs, handouts on first aid, botany, body systems & health concerns and videos on plants identification & first aid applications. 7Song is the founder and main teacher at this school. There are two in class programs and a free online First Aid course in conjunction with LearningHerbs. https://7song.com/ There is a link and a TGN study group for the Herbal First Aid course at: https://community.thegrownetwork.com/discussion/844864/7songs-herbal-first-aid-course-study-group/p1
Herbal Remedies Advice. Rosalee de la Foret's website. Herbal monographs, recipes and natural health articles all free. Links to Rosalee's online herbalism courses. Free Herbal Jump-start course. Rosalee is one of the instructors at LearningHerbs. https://www.herbalremediesadvice.org/

American Botanical Council. This site has a list of all the Commission E plant monographs. Click on Herbal Library in the main tab bar. Lots of resources. You can sign up for a newsletter that will notify you of webinars (some are free) and other educational opportunities along with herbal product updates. . https://abc.herbalgram.org/site/SPageServer/

Here are a few of my references which I trust. First of all the monographs of medicinal plants. There are the ones developed by World health organisation
Then the ones developed by the European Union Medicines Agency
I also like Encyclopaedia of medicinal plants by Jorge D. Pamplona Roger

I ran across this wealth of information today from Chestnut Herbs. Free resources!
-
I love the chestnut blog. Such amazing info.
Another website that is inspiring
-
Gaia herbs professional solutions offers a lot of free webinars on herbal remedies.
-
Also, Susan weed has some really good info and The Wise Woman Ezine
-
R. J. Whelan put together an extensive resource. His information is solid.
He also lists a materia medica and canon of medicine from Paul Bergner here:
-
Henriette's Herbal website is a wealth of information.
If you click on Classic Texts in the side bar, this will take you to a page where you can view all of the information in each one as well as copies of some historical medical journals and articles. At the bottom of this page are links to classic texts on other herbal sites and a link to a list of weights and measures which can be very helpful when looking at recipes written in old English.
Dr. Duke's Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Database. This is a huge site with so much information. Takes a bit of searching to narrow down what you are looking for. Has explanations and definitions for all those constituents you have no idea how to pronounce or what they do, including pharmaceutical terminology. Its recommended by the BC Herbalist Association.

I haven't weighed in because while I have lots of certification, I'm not a practitioner. All good resources though!

@judsoncarroll4 The purpose here is to avoid every little resource (which are many), that everyone uses, to be posted here. Those are better posted about elsewhere.
My intention for this space is to be a quick place to find the very best & most trustworthy resources, and not the Readers Digest or run of the mill blogger type quality.
It can be difficult in the big world of herbal resources to know what is trustworthy when you are a beginner. This thread should help bring those out. Also, it should be a great place to swap more advanced resources.
