@COWLOVINGIRL Anytime!
So...are they close? How old are they now? I had to wait a very long time for some of mine one year, but once they laid, they really laid!

I'm pretty sure they're around 18 & 19 weeks. One of the breeds we have is supposed to start laying around 18 & 20 weeks. But then I also heard that sometimes when it's as late in the year as this, they wait until spring! Oh dear!

Yes Ma'am! Every chicken owner who has raised hens from chicks has that same feeling of "when will they start laying!"
Comb gets darker shade of red, they might venture into the nesting boxes more often and they might start doing the submissive squat which is an indicator that they are ready for a Roo to do his thing...if you know what I mean!
20 weeks to a full 6 months or longer depending on breed, weather, diet, and I'm sure lots of other things. Don't worry, it'll happen! And then you'll wake up one day and look at the 5 dozen eggs you have in your fridge and wonder how you got so many eggs!
Regardless, enjoy the process, its magical and wonderful and the way that God meant for it to be!

That is true.
@Slippy & hours of daylight!
