Inspirational quotes at the top of the page.... a proposal

It just occurred to me that we (all the folks on the forum) are a group of intelligent, creative and optimistic people. Why don't we come up with our own inspirational messages? I bet, that if each of us took a few minutes to think of a positive affirmation or inspirational thought each day, well it might not only help us as individuals, but we could probably come up with one heck of a collection if we post them here! Maybe we could vote on them and occasionally the best of our statements could be featured? @Marjory Wildcraft , @Merin Porter , @LaurieLovesLearning , @torey and @jodienancarrow , etc... what do y'all think?

PS. Wherever you go, there you are. Visualize whirled peas. .and... Nonconformists, unite!
I agree that we should be able to write some good ones.
There is something that I say to people who are so sympathetic to others that they go overboard trying to help. In my opinion, helping too much can interfere with life lessons or take away a person's independent initiative.
"Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should."
On that note, I love those quotes at the top. There's always something worthwhile to think about. I like yours, @shllnzl . Every time I hear 'wherever you go, there you are' I need to puzzle about it, @judsoncarroll4 . Maybe I'm going too deep?
Well, being Irish I have to make a joke of everything... figured I get that out of the way... because "I would never join a club that would have me as a member." (Groucho)
I like that idea. Good thought :)
Not sure I could do a daily one but I do like the idea. Maybe a "whenever I think of one" category lol?
I also have dibs on "I'm the Wiz and nobody beats me!"
And of course, "Life's a garden, DIG IT!"
Wait I've got two more!
Thank you so much for that SNL clip!!!!! OMG, my daughter Kimber is oh, don't get me started. But lets say this... school doesn't start until like January 22? These kids have so much time off! I need to send that motivational speaker over to her apartment.
Well, one more especially for you ... I know you will dig this not a quote, but just rockin out my redneck roots
Legit:
Each day we have a choice. We can be who we are or who we want to be. We cannot change the world. We cannot change circumstances. But, each of us has full authority over ourselves. This is, perhaps, the hardest truth I've ever had to learn to understand. Even in the worst circumstances, this is freedom.
I always tell clients...
Lack of movement causes pain.
So long as there are woods and water I can find solace.
Oh, my goodness! I thought of that same thing just 5 seconds before I came across this post! I think it's a great idea! :)
It is absurd to concern ourselves with what others think of us. The vast majority of people neither know nor care who we are. Those who like us will continue to like us so long as we treat them with respect and care. Those who dislike us will continue to dislike us no matter what we do. Those who turn on us never really liked us at all, and the fault lies with them.
I too live by this philosophy.
@judsoncarroll4 @naomi.kohlmeier and everyone else. Yes, I love this idea. This is out community and you've got great sayings - so why not? @Shay @ TGN can you jump in here and work with Judson Carroll to come up with some fun ways to have polls or offers fromt eh community for the quote up top? Whoo hoo! LOve it!
In addition to creating we could also have members say their favorite inspirational quote and vote on their favorites! What are your thoughts?
Sounds good to me!
We once had a goat who thought she was a dog. The dogs were smart enough not to disagree with a crazy goat.... you can be anything you want to be if you don't care what others think!
I can't help but visualize dogs rolling their eyes and thinking "Ooookay then!"
More like, "Don't say anything.... she gets CRAZY!!!!" If you've ever seen a mad goat, you know what I mean.
Debt is as dangerous as fire and as pernicious as rot.
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
Look at life through the windshield, not the rearview mirror.
Everyone makes mistakes. Wise people learn from their mistakes. Foolish people deride others for making mistakes and deny their own.
I love this idea and the positive quotes I am reading! Should we be giving credit to the author of the quote if it is known? I stumbled across this one that I like.
"I wish I could tell you IT gets better, but IT doesn't get better, YOU get better." Joan Rivers (emphasis is mine)
Sure, I think that is a good idea!
Would we send them to someone so they could post them at the top of the page?
