@JennyT free permaculture class if you can fit it in. I signed up for Tuesday.
Did you sign up @silvertipgrizz ?
I have a few more links for free permaculture classes I can post id people are interested
-
@Denise Grant Not signed up yet because first: I got an email from him just before I posted this and he was going to mention a givaway soon..on next Tuesday. I like to have a look at the websites of people new to me...even though I signed up to him some time back maybe a couple months or so and have not had time to do so...so I did it right then and he had permaculture info listed but the clock was not moving as I left the page to post this....When I went back to confirm the info from his site before posting it, I notieced that the clock was moving...Just now it is back on zero so I think it is based on the viewer looking at the page to set the short 4ish minute count down..not sure...either way I don't have time to watch it now..the kitchen is yelling at me, and so are my cats but hope to watch it tomorrow. I will post via copy paste part of the email I got so you can sub if you want so you can be watching for next Tuesday's info he is going to announce.... I think it is also about permaculture classes, which are so often very expensive. Glad you are interested, enjoy and let us know how this part went, if you have time.
-
@silvertipgrizz I have taken many classes in permaculture. Some are free (and good too) some are part of the class is free and you pay for the rest ansd yes some are expensive. I have taken those too.
I have a few free links that I can give you and they are good. One is free but if you want the certificate and mentoring there is a fee but its much lower than most permaculture classes. Its the same class, you just get individual help in the one you pay for and its reasonable
Oregon Univestory also puts on a free one and its amazingly good. If you take the time to do all the links - the information is astounding. I have done than one twice just because there is so much info.
You can also go to you tube and watch a lot of good permaculture videos. Toby Hemmingway is one of my favorites
I signed up for the Tuesday class.

@Denise Grant Please do post your links I very much want to learn all I can about permaculture, and growing every last food I can.. equals..FREEDOM!!!
-
@silvertipgrizz Let me go digging...
-
@Denise Grant Thank you so much for the notice. I signed up for the Thursday class. 😁
I found Toby Hemenway on YouTube. I knew I recognized that name, I absolutely love his book, Gaia's Garden! It's on my wish list. 😍
And I found the class you mentioned from Oregon University. But definitely still interested in all other links you have tucked away.😊
-
I signed up for Tuesday.
@Denise Grant and @JennyT do either of you have the link for the Oregon University course?
-
@annbeck62 The Oregon University free permaculture class is usually offered once a year. I am having trouble finding a link but will keep trying.
@annbeck62 @JennyT Here is a class that is free or donate what you can. Its a year long. I have taken this https://www.freepermaculture.com/onlinecourse/
There is one more free course that is offered on a site, let me find the link. Its about ten lessons long but it is good and ther website has really good blog posts and other ideas
-
@JennyT I am having trouble finding the Oregon permaculture link. Would you post it? @annbeck62 was interested in it too
Toby hemmingways has great you tube videos and I have Gaia's Garden. Its a must have!~ I love it
All Bill Mollisons permaculture class videos are on a site, just in a tape version. I has trouble sticking with it. He was one of the founders of Permaculture but it was the way it was taped. My mind just wandered but you may want to look it up. I'll see if I can find it

Here is the link for the course through Oregon University I found. @annbeck62 @Denise Grant

Yes, this is what I have taken. Now they seem to be doing it as a on your own program. I really learned a lot from this, even after taking another well known PDC course. Its well worth the time and the links are amazing.
I would suggest doing it with one or two people just to keep each other going and getting a different perspective from what you watched and read. Thanks for this link @JennyT
-
Ok good. I'm glad it was the same course.
@Denise Grant were you able to find the links to the other free permaculture courses that you have taken/found?
-
@annbeck62 @JennyT Here is a class that is free or donate what you can. Its a year long. I have taken this https://www.freepermaculture.com/onlinecourse/

Thanks so much for the links :)

So.... if I offered a full online PDC, how many would be interested? I have taken 5 PDCs and have the Advanced Permaculture cert. I'm qualified to teach and certify.
-
I'm very interested. @judsoncarroll4
-
@judsoncarroll4 That would be very interesting. I have had introductions to permaculture and have tried using some of the principles in my garden. But more knowledge is always better.
-
@judsoncarroll4 I am also interested.
-
Okay. I'll ask the TGN staff. Maybe in the future we can work out a plan to offer a PDC through TGN. It would be a much bigger, longer class than those currently offered... and a big project for all involved. Ms. Marjory has some big stuff going on right now, soon to be rolling out a major best seller new book! So, I know everyone is too busy and focused on current projects to consider it right now. I'll definitely make note of it for the future.
-
@judsoncarroll4 Allow me to expose my ignorance.. what is PDC form?
-
Permaculture Design Course. It is usually 72 hours of instruction.
-
@judsoncarroll4 ok, anxious for your class to start
