Gogi Berry Tincture
I am putting together a gogi berry tincture. This is a new one for me.
I am using 5T dried gogi berry to 4oz 80 prof brandy and soaking for 6-8 weeks with regular shaking.

Sounds interesting! I've never used gogi berries before. What are they used for if you don't mind me asking?

They are great for strengthening your eyes. I find when I use them I can see better without my glasses.

I often add some dried goji berries to my oatmeal because they are supposed to be a nutritious "super food" but I had not thought of making a tincture, and didn't know about them strengthening your eyes. Thanks for that. What else are they good for?

@MaryRowe same with me. I like eating them raw or adding dried ones to my yogurt, but @monica197 I have never tried to make a tincture. It might turn to be a good Digestive.

Goji berries have been used in TCM for centuries, so there is lots of information on their health benefits. This is some of what I have in my personal materia medica on goji.
Fruit: Anti-oxidant. Hypotensive. Lowers cholesterol and high blood pressure. Offers immune system support. Supportive for the kidneys and liver. Dietary supplement to improve vision. Research has shown that goji berries can lower the oxidative stress in the eye that may result from Type-2 diabetes. May help prevent age related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Reputation as an anti-cancer agent; currently under research. Root bark: Diuretic. Purgative. Antibacterial. Febrifuge. Hypotensive. Astringent. Styptic. Skin rashes and itching. Chronic fevers. Internal hemorrhage. Epistaxis.

What amazing info. I love them in my oatmeal also. Tincture and bitters changes the mindset, what have I’ve been eating that can be changed into something that adds an extra punch.
