Foraging article
This is just an introduction-to-foraging article, but it has some unusual entries like tumbleweeds and sycamore seeds. (Never thought of pickling and canning tumbleweeds before! Now I -almost- wish they grew around here.) There are also links in it to good articles with recipes for dandelion bread and cooking with nettles. And at the very end, in the list of other articles of interest, that "8 Homesteading Articles from the Dollar Store" is a good reminder....

Good article.
I didn't know about tumbleweeds or sycamore. Neither grow in my area, so that's my excuse. :)
And I had never heard of prairie turnip. Again, not a plant from my area. Sounds like a great survival food. Its Psoralea esculenta for anyone who is not familiar with this.
Really good points about dental floss in the linked article about Dollar Store items.

Cool! Thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to spring and hoping that I can get out and do some foraging once the weather starts to warm

Never heard of using tumbleweed. Also have never heard of prairie turnips. I love using nettles and dandelions. Thanks for sharing.
