how to remove or neutralize glyphosate from contaminated soil?
I got this question from an attendee at the GAPS OnCon Summit (Lisa Orig). And since I have always avoided any land where glysphosates were sprayed, I don't know. How do you even measure glysphosates in soil? I'm guessing the fungi folks have some solutions. Letting the land lay fallow for a few years i probably the…

Have you ever seen a year old kohlrabi plant?
I experimented with indoor vegetable gardening last spring with poor success. I did not kill of the survivors and most are small yet still alive. I now realize that two of my kohlrabi plants are over a year old -- the stems have thickened some but no bulb even now. The seedlings were ready before I was, so I planted them…

RE: spring Home Grown Food Summit
@Marjory Wildcraft Had a question about the summit. Will there be any discussions for or about far north (or Very cold climates, anywhere) gardening? Would love to see information start being shared more in that area. There is lots for warmer climates and even for hot climates. But not much out there for those of us in…

My friend’s tooth
Does anyone know where the talk with Marjory Wildcraft and her dentist (and her phone number) is located? My dear friend is scheduled for a root canal in five days … I suggested he NOT do it, not that he will listen to me. What can I tell him? What alternates to root canals are there, besides pulling the tooth? He said…

What works the best for Neuropathy?
I use Toe extenders and Arnica cream and that has helped me some. The Acupunture also seems to help. I do take Vitamin B (liquid). (I often forget) to take the Vitamin B. The last time I tried to purchase some they were out. Consistency is the key for this. What do you do that helps with Neuropathy?

AdventureSmart: kids wilderness safety skills courses
This is an excellent program that offers many presentations to teach kids how to be safe. I think it is non-profit and if I remember correctly, kids get to keep a little safety kit. I don't know how many countries this many be offered in, but it would be worth researching if you are interested in bringing these…

Let's Pool Skills, Resources
Chiapas, Mexico. Seems versus my limited experiences, 53+ countries, Southern Mexico in the mountains, best farming, orchard, safest alternative. I don't want a cult or commune, just maybe like-minded, "brains" and "brawn" to navigate what I assume will be "difficult" next 3 years.

Tomato Sauce for Canning tastes odd
I took some of the tomatoes we grew this summer when I was too busy to deal with them and threw them whole into the freezer. Took them out this weekend and thawed them. Drained much of the liquid from them. Ran them through my Victorio food press to remove seeds and skin. Cooked them down today. But when we tasted them,…

Fiber in the winter diet?
I am curious as to how you keep enough healthy fiber in your diet during the cold months when the garden is not producing. In warm weather, I eat a lot of salads, using lettuce, spinach, and mustard. I also put quantities of these green leafy plants on my sandwiches. Green onions or scallions are also a common addition.…

For Arthritis Suffers: Did you know?
Did you know that some of the food items that you might find interesting to know about (that might bother your arthritis are: legumes, nuts, and orange cheese. Garden Losses
I'm blaming the warm spell we had in late January/early February for this. I've lost most of my cherry trees this year. We'll be removing them later today or tomorrow. One is nearly 30 years old, two are about 25 years old and the other two are 15 years old. One of the 15 year olds has enough live parts on it that we will…

Wrong or mixed seeds in packs
Is anyone else finding the wrong seeds in packs of seeds? I planted onion seeds and onions did not grow from them. I pretty sure they're radishes. These I bought from a seed seller online. Also, I planted carrots and not only got carrots popping up but tomatoes too. I have taken a total of 12 tomato plants now out of my…

Growing Parsnips?
Two seasons ago I devoted 1 bed in my veggie garden to parsnips. In the past I hadn’t had much luck with germination (they are notorious for poor germination results) but this particular year, germination was a resounding success. So I thinned them out eventually & had a nice crop. They were the variety Hollow Crown. So…

Side shoot of Growing Elderberries discussion
Has anyone tried growing them from seed? Have not had any luck yet with cuttings or starts. I got three different types of seeds. But looks like I got them too late to start this year. Says I need to refrigerate for 60 days before planting. That means I can't put them outside until almost August. They will never handle our…

Design Plans for 2023
Last year I got the idea to come up with a plan from @judsoncarroll4 so I thought I would take the time in winter to create my 2023 plan. It sort of was started by nature, we had a lot of rain in December and after the rain I realized that some Kale seeds and potatoes I planted last year came up! I am hoping that once I…
