Wrong or mixed seeds in packs
Is anyone else finding the wrong seeds in packs of seeds? I planted onion seeds and onions did not grow from them. I pretty sure they're radishes. These I bought from a seed seller online. Also, I planted carrots and not only got carrots popping up but tomatoes too. I have taken a total of 12 tomato plants now out of my…

Seed Up Saturday 2023!
A quote from their email... "we’ll show how to get seeds once - and eat that food for life! Over the past few years we’ve all seen first-hand how vulnerable our food system is, and we are at risk again in the very near future. Thankfully, the answer is quite simple… and it’s worked for thousands of years. In our signature…

Seed Viability _ how long do seeds last
Thats a great question. It all depends on seed variety and storage. Seeds have been taken from soil and proven to be centuries old and some will still sprout. Thye have also been removed from pyramid and germinate. So, I test my older seeds before I toss them. And I never truly toss them. They either get sprinkled on a…

Self sufficiency and how to make it possible
Preaching to the choir, but it's a pretty good article. Cool quote from the article.: For the past seven years, I’ve embarked on the quest of self-sufficiency, and I’m positive it is no holy grail forged of unobtanium. Sit down with me for a minute — let’s talk about what it takes to get started on this adventure. "holy…

My brother came up from Oklahoma this past week, and wanted to go to Baker Creek Heritage Seeds to get some plants for his pollinators. As I am now in a country where papaya grows, I looked for more information about this delicious and useful plant. Buying vegetable seeds
I really wanted to plant some carrot and onion seeds this last weekend. I thought I had some but alas, none in my seed box. One of my kids came in today & said, taste this! So, I tasted my first maple seed (Manitoba Maple). It was nutty and...I am not sure what. Certainly different, but not green and not bad.
